HICS-213 form design

The HICS-213 form is a specialized version of the ICS-213 form.  The HICS-213 form also supports an embedded re[ply, and the same procedures for sending a simplified reply for an ICS-213 form can be used for an HICS-213 form.

Some notes:

  • the ICS-213 form is the default form.  Other forms must identify the form type follows the reply reference in the message body.  The HICS-213 form is identified by HICS213 (no dash), see below

  • field 8 is a compound field with the message and a check box to indicate if a reply is required.  These are separated into two fields:  field 8 for the text reply and field 8A for the check box reply required.  We can not combine a text field and a logical field unambiguously.  Since the checkbox is least likely to be used (and is omitted if blank) it is given the 8a field identifier.
  • field 11, the replied by field may contain data not suitable for inclusion in the radiogram sender field.  In this case field 11 must be included in the message body
