Traffic Performance Testing

Did you just receive a message with an HXT handling instruction?

If so, you’ve received a message which is part of a Traffic Performance Test. The aim of this test is to “trace” certain messages being passed through the National Traffic System so that we can identify areas of improvement in speed and reliability.

You might be relaying this message to another station in NTS, or you might be delivering it directly to its recipient. In either case, AFTER you’ve relayed or delivered the message — or even if you’ve tried to deliver it, but ran into a problem — please follow the steps below.

You’ll first need to determine the Traffic Test ID from the message. This is the number that appears in the message preamble right after the HXT handling instruction. For example, if you received “HXT 10”, it means that the Traffic Test ID is 10.

Following the link below, please type your callsign and the Traffic Test ID. On the page after that, choose the Message Number from the drop-down list, and indicate whether you had Relayed, Delivered, or Failed to Deliver the message. Then, fill in the information requested.

Thanks, and 73!
